Introduction
3dEYE offers a convenient solution for copying camera layout groups between users, saving time and effort in creating groups for each user. With this feature, customers can easily manage their camera views by selecting the appropriate layout. If a user does not have access to certain cameras, they will not be able to view them in the copied groups.
All of our products offer the same settings for both customers and integrators, making it easy to copy any type of camera group, regardless of its complexity. We recommend using this feature to synchronize all camera groups across users.
Step 1: Ensure the User's privilege
Integrators and their managers can copy layouts for their clients, while only Owner and Admin users can copy layouts at the customer level. However, this does not prevent Guard users from creating their own layout groups or copying groups to their accounts. All users with access to layouts can copy them to Guard users, and Guard users can also copy their created layouts to other users.
Our security model for layout sharing allows sharing between multiple users, without the need for the same camera access. The Owner can create a group that is shared by multiple users who only have access to the same cameras, and users can share layouts freely without worrying about camera access for other users.
Step 2: Go to user settings
To copy camera groups, go to the User tab and select the source user. Then, navigate to the Transfer Groups tab and select the destination user. Click "Copy" to transfer the groups, or use the "Swap" icon to switch the source and destination.
In summary, copying camera layout groups in 3dEYE is a simple and efficient way to manage camera views across multiple users. By following these steps, users can save time and effort in creating groups for each account.
Note: This process will overwrite any existing groups and categories for the destination user. A confirmation popup will appear before completing the transfer, allowing the user to verify their choice to overwrite the old groups and layouts.
