⭐ Customer Level User Interface overview

Customer-Level Admin Portal

The Customer-Level Admin Portal provides a spreadsheet‑style interface for managing users, roles, cameras, alerts, events, and account settings. Most menus function like sortable tables, allowing you to filter, search, and organize information efficiently.

1. Dashboard

The Dashboard is the landing page each time you access the  Admin Portal↗️. It displays:

  • Account statistics for a selected date range

  • Storage utilization

  • Communication statistics

  • Number of associated cameras and their status

To view data for a different period, select the start and end dates and click Show.

2. Users Menu

The Users menu allows you to create and manage user accounts with different access levels, having limited or full access to the Video Portal↗️ and Admin Portal↗️. The list can be sorted by:

  • Name

  • Login email

  • Role

  • Last modified date

  • Role type

  • Adding a User
  1. Click Add.

  2. Enter user details and assign a role.

  3. Optional:

    • Require email confirmation

    • Require password change on first login

  4. Save the user.

Clicking a user’s name opens their profile.

  •  User Management

User information can be changed on the Info tab. New roles can be assigned from the list. Only same-tier roles can be assigned to one user. Security settings can be changed on the Security tab. Use the set password fields to create a new password for the user. The User would NOT be notified about this change. You can use Reset password to change the password for the user and send an email notification with a new password to the user.

Use the disable button to temporarily disable user access to the system. This will restrict the user from using both the Admin Portal↗️ and the Video Portal↗️. Use Set as an owner to convert this user to an Owner role, which will make the User the Main Customer for the account. Use the delete tab to permanently delete the user from the system.

  • To Disable User

  • To Delete User

For more information on Users, please visit this article↗️.

3. Roles Menu

Roles define which cameras and camera functions a user can access. A single camera may belong to multiple roles, each with its own permissions.

Managing Roles

  • Click a role to view, edit, or delete it

  • Click Add to create a new role

  • Provide a role name and description

  Role Types

  • Admin Role Type

Users have access to the  Admin Portal↗️ and can create other Admins and Guards who can assign cameras and camera permissions that are within their role. Can only modify users and roles that they have created.

⚠️Note: Admin Role User can only create a Guard Role-based User.

  • Guard Role Type

The user does not have access to the Admin Portal↗️. Guards can use all the features within their assigned role permissions through the end-user interface. Select users that will be assigned to this role and click Add.

4. Cameras Menu

There are 3 groups of cameras: Cameras, Shared, and Deleted cameras.

Use menu tabs to switch between them. The camera list can be searched by Camera ID, Video Status, Registration code, User, and date when it was modified.

To add a new camera, use the Add button. To view camera properties, click on the camera name in the list. The thumbnail shows a recent snapshot from the camera. For offline or disabled cameras, a generic symbol is displayed. The checkmark indicates that the camera is enabled and will be recorded according to the billing plan. The crossed circle indicates that the camera is disabled, and new footage from the camera is not stored.

  • Add a New Camera

Go to Cameras Tab. Click the Add button. In the next pop-up window, select how you wish to connect the new camera.

  • Add P&P Camera

The easiest and most secure method to add a camera is using a P&P (Plug & Play) connection. In this case, data directly flows to the cloud server over HTTPS and does not require the setup of a public IP address for the camera. You can either modify an existing P2P camera or create a new one. Input the registration code obtained from the camera. Type in the desired camera name. If the camera’s login credentials have been changed from the factory defaults, input new credentials. Click Create.

3dEYE will automatically find the camera and create a path to it. For ONVIF-compliant cameras, you will gain access to camera settings directly from the 3dEYE admin portal.

Note: Using the Push method is preferred. Even in the event that an internet provider changes the IP address or the camera is moved to a new location, access to the camera and video stream will be preserved, and no adjustments to camera settings in the admin portal will be needed.

  • Add an ONVIF camera

There are 2 methods to add a Camera using ONVIF. The first is using the URL method, where the Port Forwarding has to be configured, the second method is using the Registration code from the camera if 3dEYE's push firmware is installed on the camera.

1. Adding an ONVIF camera using the URL method

This is a more involved and less secure method. It requires a manual port setup on the client’s side. HTTP and RTS ports should be opened on the router, and an HTTP access URL has to be created. Using this method will preserve access to ONVIF-compliant features of the camera, allowing you to modify camera settings directly from the admin portal. Access to camera analytics is preserved. Input camera info in the appropriate lines. Click the Create button to add the camera. The camera will be added to your list of cameras, and you will be able to modify any camera settings that are supported through the ONVIF protocol. Note: In the event that the client’s internet provider changes the client’s IP address, camera access can be interrupted, and manual adjustments to the access path will be required. Services like DynDNS can be used to avoid connection interruptions when the IP address is changed.

2. Adding an ONVIF camera using the registration code

If a camera is P&P compatible and the firmware installed on the camera is with the 3dEYE's Push Module or if the Camera is connected to a Gateway and is already added in the Admin Portal using the P&P method then the Registration Code method can be used to add a copy of the same ONVIF compliant camera as ONVIF method such as if a copy of a camera is required with a different streaming profile for long-term time-lapse purpose.

Another reason to add a camera using the ONVIF Registration Code method can be if a camera is behind a multi-channel device like an NVR/DVR or a multi-sensor camera, and the customer wants to add a copy of that camera directly to the Portal using the camera's other profile.

  • Add a Generic Camera

Similar to the ONVIF method, the Generic Camera can also be added 2 ways. One uses the port forwarding method, and the other uses the Registration code method.

1. Adding a Generic Camera using the URL method

This method is used for any camera that can not be added using P2P or ONVIF methods. This method requires HTTP and RTSP port rules to be created on the customer's router. First, input general camera information and click next. In the second step, input access URLs and camera credentials, and click Create to add the camera to the list. Using this method is only recommended for older cameras that do not support ONVIF. This method does not allow you to change or view camera settings from the 3dEYE admin portal.

⚠️Note: In the event that the client’s internet provider changes the client’s IP address, camera access can be interrupted, and manual adjustments to the access path will be required. Services like DynDNS can be used to avoid connection interruptions when the IP address is changed.

2. Adding a Generic camera using the Registration Code

This method is useful If the camera is a non-ONVIF compliant camera and is connected to the gateway, or if the user wants to add an ONVIF camera as generic, and the camera is having the 3dEYE's push module enabled on it.

  • Camera Settings Overview

Click on a camera name from the list of cameras to open the camera info panel. Allow the page to completely load ONVIF data. The loading symbol will disappear once the loading is complete.

  •   Info Tab

Under the Info tab, the main information about the camera is displayed.

  • General

This tab shows the camera name, manufacturer, and model and lets you turn on and off the microphone for audio-enabled cameras.

  • Network

It has information about access URLs and lets you test connections to the camera. This option is not for P2P cameras.

  • Quality

For ONVIF cameras, you can change quality settings directly from the admin portal. Depending on the billing plan, different options will be configurable. For cameras that support multiple Stream channels, select the appropriate channel. Select Resolution from the list of available options for the current billing plan (can be just one option). FPS determines how many frames will be stored each second. Fewer frames mean less storage used, but also mean fewer details for fast-moving objects. The image quality slider determines what is targeted. If the slider is moved towards the quality side 3dEYE will prioritise quality to traffic, increasing the bandwidth and storage required to achieve greater image quality. Select VBR to force the selected bitrate as the average. Select automatic to let 3dEYE control quality based on the image quality slider settings. Bitrate sets the target average bitrate for the camera. Depending on the scene complexity, efficiency of the camera’s codecs, and Image quality settings 3dEYE will attempt to adjust image quality accordingly.

  • Recording

This tab lets you choose archive settings.

  • Analytics

This tab lets you configure the smart features of the camera and activate 3dEYE analytics. Under camera settings, go to the Analytics tab. Depending on the camera capabilities, you will have access to different options. Camera side events (if available, depending on the camera) will be shown in this section. Click on any desired function to configure it. Possibilities are limited and are dependent on the camera.
All motion-based events can be turned off or on. 3dEYE side analytics (server-side analytics) configuration panel (depends on the billing plan). Choose the options that you desire. Unlike on the camera side, there are no limits to the number of analytics modules that can run simultaneously, detection is much more accurate and is object-based. Confidence determines the limit of recognition confidence above which objects will be marked according to set rules. Motion detection is on for the region under a blue mask and off for the rest of the image. Once done setting up modules, press the Save button to submit changes. Pressing close will close the camera settings window without saving the changes; you will be prompted to confirm closing without saving. For more information on how to optimise image parameters, please visit this article.

  • Location

This tab lets you view and edit the camera location on the map.

  • Events

This tab shows the history of recognized events.

  • Logs

This tab stores information about camera status changes.

  • Troubleshooting

This tab helps you determine what is wrong.

  5. Alerts Menu

  • Create New Sensor Alert

Specify the name for this alert. Use something descriptive, as this will be included in the alert notification heading. Select alert type. For the alert to work correctly specified type of alert should be configured and turned on in the camera settings. Choose any time to keep the alert active always, or select specific dates and times when the alert will be active. Notification filtering limits the number of emails/push messages generated in a selected time interval (all events that have happened during this time interval will be included in this message). If the checkmark is removed, notifications will be sent instantaneously. Choose how you wish to receive notifications.

⚠️IMPORTANT: If “Push” is selected, a notification will be sent only for recognized objects (server-side analytics). Click next or click on the Cameras tab to choose what cameras will be included in this alert.

⚠️Note: If Notification filtering is turned on and under System Alerts, the Default Interval is selected, then notifications will be aggregated based on the longest time interval setting.

On the Cameras tab, select the cameras that will be included in the alert. Click on the camera name to move the camera between columns. The left column shows available cameras. The right column shows selected cameras. Next, click on the Contacts tab or click the next button to select users who will receive notifications. The same principle as with cameras, the left column shows all available users, the right – users that will receive an alert. Click the Create button to create an alert.

  • System Alerts

The alert list shows all alerts. System alerts warn selected persons about the status of your cameras.
Create a system event to receive a notification about problems with your cameras at desired intervals to allow you to act and fix issues promptly. Under the Daily Report tab, a daily system health report can be requested. This report will include the status of all customer cameras. This report is generated at midnight. Click on the User name to add this user to the list of users who receive reports. Under the settings tab, all alerts can be turned on (Armed), turned on a specific schedule (On schedule), or turned off. The set interval between alerts limits the number of emails received in a given time interval. All alerts with notification filtering on will be accumulated for the specified time, and then just one email with the list of all events will be generated. If Notification Filtering for an alert is off, then this interval will be ignored, and notification for a selected alert will be sent immediately.

  • Alerts Schedule

Users can create a schedule to receive the alerts. The user will receive the alerts only during the scheduled hours of the alerts. To schedule an alert, go to the alerts tab and then select create a Sensor Event, and then under schedule select Custom schedule.

The user can click on the square boxes to select or unselect the time for a specific day. Each box corresponds to a 30-minute window. Users can also drag and drop to select or unselect the boxes. The orange-colored square box is for the time selected to send alerts, and the greyed-out square box is when the notifications won't be sent.

  6. Events Menu

Menu Events shows the log of all events that were detected by the cameras or have happened with the cameras. Select a date range to review the events. Choose which columns are visible. Sort events using any of the columns. Use Reset settings to restore the default view of the events list. Use Reset filters to clear any filters that were previously input.

  7. Share Menu

Menu Share shows a log of all instances when a camera was shared with a third party. Use the Share button to share your camera with anyone using a web link. You can specify which cameras and for how long will be shared. Sort events using any of the columns. Use Reset settings to restore the default view of this list. Choose which columns are visible. Use Reset filters to clear any filters that were previously input.

  • Share Cameras

Go to the Share menu and press the Share button to start sharing your cameras. Choose how you wish to share your camera: The link option will generate a link that you can share with others to allow them to view your camera; the Widget option will generate HTML code that you can add to your website to embed a stream from your camera into your website. To create a temporary link to your camera, select the camera or cameras that you wish to share. Add a name to this shared link. Add a description to this shared link. Choose how your cameras can be accessed: simply through the link, or visitors will be required to input a password before they will be allowed to view the camera. Create a password. Select when the link will expire. Input the email address of the person/persons with whom you wish to share your camera. Note: after you hit the Share button, an email with the link will be sent to all addresses that you provided. After this, you can reopen this Shared link and send a copy of it to the buffer.

  • Share Cameras: Widget

Press the Widget option to create HTML code that will allow you to embed a stream from your camera into your website. Then select the camera that you want to share with others. Add a name and description. After you press the Share button, a window with Widget properties will appear. Select which options will be included in the widget. Press Save to submit changes. Press copy to copy HTML code into the buffer, open your website editing tool, and paste the code into your website HTML code.

  • Profile Menu

Menu Profile allows you to modify your user account credentials. You can also change your account password and username from your email IDs to something else. Additionally, you enable or disable the Multifactor Authenticators for your account from the Menu Profile. To go to the Menu Profile, first, click on the Dropdown next to the Account Name and then click on the 'Profile' under the User section.

  • To change the Account's First and Last Name and the Email ID

You can modify your first and last name and your email from the User Info tab under the Menu Profile. Click on Save to save the changes.

Note: The First and Last Name or the email is different from the Account contact information stored under the "Account Profile" menu.

  • To change the account password

You can change your Admin Portal password by going to the Password Tab. You need to enter your current password in order to change it to a new one.

Note: If the user forgot their password, they can request a new password from the Admin portal login page by clicking on the Forgot password link.

  • To change the Username

By default, the username is the email address that was initially used during the account creation. The same email ID is used to log in to the Admin Portal. You have the flexibility to change your account username from your default email ID to something else according to your preference. Go to the Username tab under the Menu Profile and change the username for your account.

To change the username, first you need to uncheck the box stating to use email as the username:

After saving the changes, you will be able to log in to the Admin Portal only with the new user name. This means the email ID used earlier for logging in will no longer work after the change on the Username tab.

To change the username back to the default email ID, you can select the option of Use email as username again.

  • To use Multi-factor Authenticator

To enable the MFA on the account, you need to first click on the enable button on the Multi-factor Authentication Tab under the Menu Profile.

Then you will be provided with multiple authenticator mobile app options, which you can select from. Once the app is installed, you need to scan the QR code shown on the MFA tab using the application on your mobile phone.

This will provide a 6-digit code on the authenticator mobile app, which you need to enter in the code box on the MFA tab, and then you need to click enable again to enable the Multi-factor authentication on your account at every login.
