How to add Axis using P&P method for older camera generations

Almost all Axis cameras can be added using our custom build push module. Depending on the camera's main chip a different version of the push module should be used. To download the model-specific push module please visit this page↗️. The correct procedure to install the push module depends on the camera's interface version. This article described the correct procedure for the older generation of Axis camera's web interface, for the latest Axis cameras please visit this page↗️.

The general protocol to add the Axis camera using P&P methods consists of the following steps:

Step 1: Configure the camera's network and time settings

Configure the camera's network and time settings according to its location requirements, ensure that camera can access the internet, and resolve DNS addresses.
Go to the Basic Setup menu and click on TCP/IP tab. Configure the IPv4 section. DHCP (automatic) IP configuration is recommended if Manual is used make sure that the correct Default router is used. For manual configuration ensure that the Primary DNS server on the advanced TCP/IP settings page has correct values. On the Date & Time tab configure the clock to the appropriate time zone and time.

Step 2: Create an ONVIF user with an Administrator role

From the System, menu go to the Security => ONVIF tab and click on the Add... button. Create a user with Administrator permissions.

From the plain config select Properties group and scroll down to find Properties System and look for the Architecture code name. Download the file that matches the name of your camera architecture from this page↗️.

When the upload is complete you will have 3dEYE.PushModule application in the list of Installed Applications, click on it to select it, and click the Start button. When the status of the application changes to Running select it again and press the Log button. A new window will open, copy the Registration code from this page.

Step 5: Restart the camera

Restart the camera and wait for it to boot up completely.

Step 6: Add the camera to the 3dEYE system

Add camera in the Admin Portal↗️ using the Registration code from step 4.
From the Customers, table click on the customer to whom you want to add the camera then click on the Cameras menu on the customer menu level and use the Add button to integrate the camera and then select P&P camera options.
