Introduction
If a camera is P&P compatible and the firmware installed on the camera is with the 3dEYE's Push Module or if the Camera is connected to a Gateway and is already added in the Admin Portal using the P&P method then the Registration Code method can be used to add a copy of the same ONVIF compliant camera as ONVIF method such as if a copy of a camera is required with a different streaming profile for time-lapse purpose.
Another reason to add a camera using the ONVIF Registration Code method can be if a camera is behind a multi-channel device like an NVR/DVR or a multi-sensor camera and the customer wants to add a copy of that camera directly to the Portal using cameras other profile.
Steps to add the camera to the 3dEYE cloud service
Selecting the customer and the camera addition method
Select the customer to whom you want to add the camera. Then go to the Camera tab and click on the "Add" button.
Selecting the Registration Method
After selecting the ONVIF Camera, a new pop-up window will appear. Select the Connection mode as Registration Code.
Entering the Camera information
Enter the Registration Code of the camera which can be either obtained from the camera's WebUI or if the camera is connected to the gateway then use the copy/paste icon. Then select the Video Protocol which can be either RTSP or RTMP depending on the camera configuration and the HTTP Protocol from the dropdown menu.
Enter the Camera Credentials, and use the camera’s ONVIF user credentials for the Username and Password fields. These credentials can be the same as the ones used to access the web interface of the camera but if the camera has a separate ONVIF user then use credentials for the ONVIF user (not all cameras have a separate ONVIF user).
Click on "Get Channels" to get the different channel profiles from the camera, then select the desired profile from the dropdown menu.
Enter the desired name and a short description of the camera.
Using the Quality Preset slider to configure desired quality settings for the camera and our system will adjust the camera streaming profiles according to the camera's available resolution list and quality presets. Then click "Create" to add the camera to our system.
Adjusting the streaming quality after the addition of the camera
After the camera integration process is completed, you can check the camera settings and adjust them if needed. To access the camera configuration page click on the camera name from the Cameras table and go to the Quality tab. Here you can change the Streaming profile, resolution, image quality, and target bitrate settings.
Archive duration is set according to the customer's default settings, though it can be changed from the Recording tab of the camera properties.
If the camera supports ONVIF event configuration, you will be able to modify the camera's motion detection, line crossing, and/or any other analytical modules from the Analytics tab. Also from the Analytics tab, server-side analytics can be turned on. For details, please visit this page↗️. For more information on how to optimize image parameters, please visit this article↗️.
