Update Uniview camera over telnet

We tried to do the firmware update remotely, but the camera is refusing to download the firmware from a remote server. You can try to upgrade it over the local network through Telnet. To do this, you will need to follow these steps:

Step 1

Download and install a TFTP server. You can use any TFTP server software you prefer. Here is a link to download simple TFTP server software↗️.

Step 2

Please try to upgrade the camera using this firmware↗️.

Step 3

You will need to unpack the firmware from the archive and put all the files from the archive into a single folder. Make sure there are no other files in this folder.

Step 4

Using the TFTP software, start the TFTP server and point it to the folder that contains the unpacked firmware.

Step 5

Connect to the camera using Telnet. To log in to the camera, use the following credentials:
  • Username: root
  • Password: uniview

Step 6

To update the firmware, use the following command:
update -tftp 192.168.2.250 all -f

Replace 192.168.2.250 with the IP address of the computer on which the TFTP server is running.
