3dEYE offers two monthly cloud service subscription options to associate with your cameras in the 3dEYE admin portal. Individually integrated cameras added utilizing the P&P connection method↗️ are eligible for either option 1 (Fixed plans) or option 2 (Pay As You Go) monthly subscription plans, but cameras added via the ONVIF↗️ or Generic↗️ methods are only eligible for option 2 (Pay As You Go) monthly subscription plan.
Option 1 (Fixed) plans are quoted costs for preset cloud retention and streaming settings, easy to mark up and resell with a fixed margin.
The option 2 (Pay As You Go) plan is priced at a varied rate based on the monthly consumed cloud data storage and streaming. These are the reasons for the two pricing options:
1) to provide flexibility to customers to use more camera types and get billed only for what they use
2) For those who would like to fix the consumption and pricing, there is a variety of plans for P&P cameras and gateway-enabled devices.
P&P Cameras with a Fixed plan instructs the platform to enforce preset streaming settings to guarantee a fixed monthly camera cost. Cameras added via the ONVIF or Generic methods can only be assigned to Pay As You Go plans. The Pay As You Go plan doesn’t limit customers to specific preset settings and allows flexible consumption. It could be beneficial to customers who want to pay only for what they use.
Associating the camera to the PayAsYouGo plan will allow customizing the Quality and Recordings tabs in the admin portal camera settings.
Its subscription cost will depend on the total monthly accrued cloud storage and traffic (charged at the same TB rate per camera).
The cloud storage factor will vary based on the average variable bitrate up to the preset limit in the Recording tab of the admin portal camera settings. Cameras equipped with bandwidth-efficient codecs and compression will fluctuate their bitrate in real time for more efficient cloud storage usage. The traffic cost component will vary based on the total viewing by all users accessing the particular camera feed via the 3dEYE video portal, alarm station, and mobile apps. Excessive surveillance playback by multiple users may lead to unexpectedly high traffic costs. Though with a safeguard in place to log inactive users out of the video portal after thirty minutes, it is important to emphasize to your clients that cloud playback is not meant to be frequently monitored as a traditional video wall, as the down traffic from the cloud is a cost factor in the VSaaS model. For traditional video wall applications, consider using an on-premise NVR.
Besides anticipating monthly cost breakdowns in the My Invoices↗️ tab of your Integrator account, daily cloud usage can be monitored for all cameras in the Integrator account Dashboard↗️ or in the individual camera settings. These statistics can also help estimate month-end costs.
Additional fixed plans can be created for any cloud retention and streaming settings you require when you request it by opening a support ticket↗️. Please reach out to your 3dEYE account executive if you have further questions and see additional pricing FAQs here↗️.
