Because the 3dEYE platform is a cloud‑based service, cameras are designed to operate continuously. Any interruption whether planned or unplanned prevents the cloud from receiving video, generating alerts, or maintaining a complete archive. For this reason, there is no built‑in cloud feature to schedule cameras to connect or disconnect at specific times.
Why Scheduled Operation Is Not Recommended
When a camera is offline:
The cloud cannot record video
No alerts or analytics can be generated
A security gap is created in the archive
There may be a delay of several minutes before streaming resumes once the camera is powered back on
In some cases, the camera may require manual reconfiguration to reconnect properly
For reliability and security, cameras should remain powered and connected 24/7.
If a Client Still Wants Scheduled Operation
Any scheduling must be implemented outside the cloud platform, using customer‑side equipment or network controls. Possible methods include:
Cameras that support built‑in sleep or schedule modes (rare and model‑specific)
Smart power outlets or timers that cut power on a schedule
Network‑level scheduling, such as disabling internet access for specific devices at certain times
The best option depends on the customer’s hardware and network environment.
Recommendation
For consistent recording, uninterrupted alerts, and overall system stability, we strongly recommend continuous operation rather than scheduled on/off cycles.
